Disability Action are pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin O’Kane as Public Affairs and Engagement Officer.

Kevin will be based in Disability Action’s Belfast office and will ensure the organisation’s political and legislative priorities are communicated to key policymakers and stakeholders within the disability sector and across all levels of UK Government.

In particular, Kevin will be responsible for engaging with Disability Action’s membership organisations, advising on the membership process, promoting the benefits and providing regular contact with members. In the coming weeks Kevin will be reaching out to the membership base and introducing himself while explaining more about the new role and membership offering. 

In his new role Kevin will help to deliver on the organisation’s public affairs and political engagement strategy primarily in Northern Ireland. He is passionate about ensuring the voice and interests of disabled people in N.Ireland is communicated to politicians and decision-makers at the heart of government and public life.

Kevin brings to Disability Action a wealth of experience in political communications, EU policy, advocacy and media relations having spent over six years in the private sector based in London and Brussels, working on public affairs campaigns, strategic communications and engagement programmes for a range of clients including trade associations, governments and leading international businesses.
