Changing Places toilets a requirement in certain public buildings

Finance Minister Conor Murphy today announced changes to building regulations, which will mean Changing Places toilets must be provided in certain buildings commonly used by the public.

Disability Action welcomes these new building regulations which will make Changing Places toilets a requirement in certain public buildings.

The new statutory guidance is published today and will come into effect on 30 June 2022.

This is a fantastic achievement for Disability Rights Campaigner Michaela Hollywood and Changing Places Campaigner Christine McClements who lobbied hard for this, and for everyone who took part in the public consultation.
