Bob Lingwood, Omagh war veteran and great advocate for disability, recently passed away at the age of 103. Mr Lingwood had been involved in groups such as the Omagh Access Forum, Probus and Shopmobility, mostly helping disabled people.

Orla McCann, ONSIDE Project Manager at Disability Action, pays her tribute to Bob:

Bob was a gentleman and it was my pleasure to know him and work with him. He was selfless in giving his time to others, notably to help disabled people, and served for some time on the Regional Access Committee.  I was delighted when I saw him carry the torch for the London Olympics, he deserved that accolade. Bob was a pleasure to know and I pass my most sincere condolences to his daughter and to his wider family circle.
