  1. How we can help
  2. ONSIDE

ONSIDE project

The ONSIDE project is a cross border project created to address the social isolation experienced by disabled people. ONSIDE’s aim is to enable disabled people to create community connections - both locally and online. We operate throughout Northern Ireland and R.o.I. border counties. Our services are free, independent and impartial.

What we offer:

  • A development plan for participants to aid connections within their local community.
  • An 8 week digital skills training programme - Android tablet is supplied.
  • Opportunity to become a 'Peer Volunteer' using acquired digital skills to support new participants.
  • Opportunity to take part in 'Peer Research' focusing on the physical and societal barriers which discourage disabled people from connecting with local and digital communities.

ONSIDE is led by Disability Action NI in partnership with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive; the Independent Living Movement in Ireland formerly called Centre for Independent Living; and Supporting Communities.

ONSIDE is a cross border project funded by the INTERREG VA programme which is managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.
