At *ONSIDE we support disabled people to become active citizens in their own community and online. Peer Volunteers play a vital role in helping us achieve this aim.

As a Peer Volunteer, you will share your knowledge of the online world and offer companionship to help participants stay in touch with loved ones and the wider community. You do not need to be an IT expert; all you need is basic IT skills and possess a genuine interest in making a difference to the lives of disabled people.  We particularly welcome applications from people who consider themselves to have a disability.

In the video below Nigel tells us how becoming a volunteer brought 'meaning' and 'purpose' to his life.

The time commitment is just 2-3 hours a week, during which you will provide one-to-one or small group support to help people learn how to use their Lenovo Tablets, get online safely, and find new ways of connecting with their communities. This can be done online, over the phone or in face-to-face groups. Since we hope to eventually be working in person again, we ask that our volunteers reside in Northern Ireland and RoI border Counties.

You will be part of a Volunteer team that is constantly learning, trying out new ideas and having fun together as we work.  Regular supervision, training and support comes with the package.

  • (Optional): Promote ONSIDE opportunities through public speaking & video creation.
