Disability Action are pleased to see the launch of research from Joseph Rowntree examining the impact of Universal Credit on recipients in Northern Ireland.

We were delighted to lend our support to Ruth Patrick (Department of Social Policy and Social Work at the University of York) and Mark Simpson (Lecturer in Law, Ulster University) during this vital work.

The findings and recommendations reached are informed by participatory research and speak to the experiences of those caught up in a system which needs to change.

Disability Action fully supports the recommendations reached. We are ready and willing to play our part to support Department of Communities with effecting the changes required.

We believe that a system based on ‘rights, dignity and respect’ is achievable and we all should play our part in making that a reality.  We applaud all those brave individuals who volunteered to take part.
