Job Description:
As an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI), you will be responsible for delivering driving lessons for individuals with disabilities across Northern Ireland. In addition to driving lessons, you will also run theory courses for people with learning disabilities and provide valuable information sessions for various external stakeholders, including health professionals, schools, and colleges. The key duties and responsibilities include:

- Conducting driving and refresher lessons and theory courses for individuals with disabilities.
- Maintaining and providing progress reports for each pupil.
- Ensuring timely and accurate monthly statistics for record-keeping and grant reporting.
- Handling cash transactions when necessary.
- Meeting operational and quality targets for driving lessons, theory courses, and information sessions.
- Collaborating with our administrative staff to provide these services efficiently.

Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance:
While conducting lessons, you will be responsible for the safety and security of our Mobility Centre's vehicles and equipment. This includes maintaining vehicle adaptations, carrying out safety checks, reporting any irregularities or defects, and ensuring the cleanliness of the vehicles.

What We Offer:

- Training on medical conditions and disabilities related to driving.
- Ongoing support and advice from existing ADIs and assessors at Disability Action.

Qualifications and Experience:
To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

Essential Requirements:
1. Possession of a full UK Driving Licence and an up-to-date UK/NI Approved Driving Instructor Licence (Grade 4 or above).
2. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
3. Experience in recording progress reports for pupils.

Desirable Requirements:
4. At least two years of relevant experience in providing driving lessons to the public.
5. Understanding of the issues related to mobility for people with disabilities.
6. Knowledge of vehicle adaptations for people with disabilities.
7. Experience in providing driving lessons to people with disabilities.
8. Knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting the rights of people with disabilities and a commitment to the promotion of equality and human rights.
