It is widely recognised that tackling N.Ireland’s skills gap will be key to driving forward strong, sustainable economic growth. At the NI Chamber event this week on 'The Future of Skills Campaign – Focus on Apprenticeships' our teams heard from leading employers, subject-matter experts and government on the specific role apprenticeships and other pathways to employment have to play.

Our experienced and understanding Training Support Services team provides disability support provision to young people on the Apprenticeships NI programme - both 'In-work' and during 'Off-the-job’ training. They collaborate with colleges/training providers and employers to support apprentices every step of the way throughout their training.

Shane who undertook Apprenticeships NI training told us:

Mary Beth, my Employment & Training Officer at Disability Action, visited me in college and the workplace, talked to my tutors, employer and my parents - always asking the right questions and sorting out any queries for me which gave me encouragement, reassurance and kept me focused.
