The OCN Level 1 Award in Understanding Neurodivergence in the Workplace is a three-day, accredited course designed to equip employers, managers, HR professionals, and colleagues with the knowledge and practical tools needed to build genuinely inclusive workplaces. Delivered by Disability Action Northern Ireland. This course goes beyond awareness, it builds real confidence and actionable understanding. Participants will explore what neurodivergence means, how it presents at work, and how small, meaningful adjustments can make a significant difference to team wellbeing and performance.

This course is suitable for organisations of all sizes across Northern Ireland and is open to anyone aged 18 and over. Whether you work in HR, equality, diversity and inclusion, or simply want to be a better ally to neurodivergent colleagues, this course will help you promote positive, inclusive workplace practices. Participants will also develop stronger communication and collaboration skills, improving how diverse teams work together with greater empathy and mutual respect.

Upon successful completion, participants receive an OCN-accredited certificate, providing formal recognition of their learning and commitment to inclusion. Disability Action's training is grounded in nearly four decades of experience supporting disabled people and advocating for their rights across Northern Ireland. This course reflects that same commitment — equipping people not just with knowledge, but with the confidence to act and create workplaces where everyone can thrive.
