Work experience opportunity for Neurodiverse people who want to work in animation

What is it?

A ‘Pablo Academy’ providing work experience opportunities on animation projects at the Northern Ireland production company, Paper Owl Films (creator of the award-winning CBeebies series Pablo) 2 x 6-week work placements will be offered on the animation team in May / June 2022.

Who For?

Neurodivergent people (including those who are self diagnosed) who want to work in animation. 

When?

Placements are from Tuesday 3rd May 2022 to Friday the 10th June 2022.

Why?

Because at Paper Owl Films we celebrate all kinds of minds. We want to attract neurodiverse creativity to our industry by making work experience more accessible.

Where?

Paper Owl Films is based in Holywood, Co. Down, Northern Ireland. Flexible and remote working options will be considered where possible.

How do I find out more?

Please attend the information event on Zoom on Monday 11th April where we will explain the opportunity in full and how we can help you apply to the Pablo Academy.

At the Zoom event we will hear from:

  • Gráinne McGuinness, Creative Director at Paper Owl Films will share the mission statement of the Pablo Academy, and explain how a placement at the Pablo Academy would kickstart your career in animation
  • Michael White – an animator at Paper Owl, will share his experience of what working in animation is like on a day-to-day basis
  • Sharon Didrichsen from Specialisterne, outlining the 3rd party support that is available to ensure candidates get the most out of their work placement
  • Gavin Halpin, Managing Director at Paper Owl Films will explain how to apply for a placement including a demonstration of how to fill out the simple application form.

A recording and transcription of the information session will be provided to all attendees.
