Job Match exploring opportunities with LIDL

Our Job Match team has been out and about meeting with local employers of all sizes, to explore job opportunities and help disabled people get the new job they are looking for.

This week Karen Smith and Heather Logan met with LIDL Northern Ireland to discuss how LIDL can help our Job Match participants apply for job opportunities with the company.

LIDL have 900+ employees and an ongoing expansion programme across NI. They "achieve long term success by investing in the recruitment, training and development of exceptional talent."

Exploring the need for food banks for disabled people – a call for evidence

The Trussell Trust calls for evidence for an ambitious research project to better understand disabled people’s experiences of the social security system and the drivers behind the overrepresentation of disabled people being referred to food banks. This includes a comparative analysis of disabled people’s experiences of claiming Adult Disability Payments in Scotland, and Personal Independence Payments across the rest of the UK.
