Join Alex Maskey, Speaker of the Assembly, Andrea Brown, CEO of Disability Action and Chris Lynch CEO of 1 in 5, a trail blazing social enterprise advancing the 1 in 5. Chris will host a showcase of local talent and initiatives which are working to close the disability employment gap in NI.

The Disability Employment Gap in NI was 43.9% at the end of June 2021. This is the highest in the UK.

Chris, innovators and organisations across the region are pioneering new initiatives to address this challenge.

  • Little Forget Me Nots Trust - will be providing a taster of traditional embroidery skills
  • The Pixel Mill - providing information on DfC employability initiatives in partnership with BBC and NI Screen

  • Job Match - employability project
  • Disability Action Wellbeing Hub - mental health counselling for disabled people and carers
