How we can help Work Building relationships with Musgrave to support disabled people to find work Posted 14.10.2021 Michael Moore first reached out to Musgrave Group via LinkedIn after starting his post as Job Match Employment Engagement Officer at Disability Action in 2018. Since then he has developed an excellent relationship with the Musgrave team to support our participants in improving their job preparation skills to find paid work. Back in 2018, Heather agreed to meet with Michael at their premises in Duncrue Road, Belfast. Michael tells us: I remember the meeting, it was a crisp, chilly Autumn afternoon, but Heather greeted me and introduced me to two of her colleagues, Rachel Todd, Recruitment Expert and Lizanne McGivern, HR Business Partner. With them, Michael discussed the support Disability Action can provide through our Workable NI programme and the pool of talented participants we have on the Job Match programme: We discussed the employability soft skills workshops and within a couple of months, Rachel, Lizanne, Heather and an additional colleague joined me and my colleague Tommy Cairns for a couple of workshops. Since then, Musgrave have always been quick to engage with us for skills building through the workshops, both face to face and on virtual platforms, with Heather and another colleague, Danielle Neill, providing realistic mock interviews to build confidence for participants, with detailed feedback for improvement. Heather White, HR Business Partner – Retail Operations says: I am really excited to be working with Disability Action to unlock the potential talent of individuals that join our company in the future. I have been passionate about this for quite some time; it is something I believe all employers should get behind in some shape or form. Working with Heather and her colleagues has been a pleasure and we continue to look forward to working with Musgrave Group. Michael says: It is a pleasure working with a company who are proactive in expanding their inclusion and diversity. We really appreciate their involvement to develop our participants’ employability skills, and this is another exciting step we are taking together, to provide help and support across the Musgrave Group and our participants across Northern Ireland. Stacey Smyth, HR Business Partner says: I’m delighted to be working with Disability Action. In Musgrave we believe that at the heart of growing good business, is embracing and encouraging difference and I believe that working with Disability Action will unlock so much opportunity for both individuals, and us as a Business. Anne Reid, Job Match Manager says: Thank you to Heather and Stacey from Musgrave for reaching out to Job Match. We are looking forward to some great collaboration over the coming months to help our participants on their journey towards employment while helping Musgrave fulfil their recruitment needs.
