CastleCourt Shopping Centre in Belfast city centre has chosen Disability Action NI as their Charity Partner for 2019-2020.

Kevin Doherty, Chief Executive, Disability Action said “This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of Disability Action and the services we provide for disabled people throughout Northern Ireland. We are delighted that CastleCourt has chosen to support Disability Action and are looking forward to engaging with the shoppers and retailers to showcase our services and programmes and communicate the impact of our work.”

One in five people in Northern Ireland have a disability - physical disabilities, learning disabilities, sensory disabilities, hidden disabilities and mental health disabilities. Disability Action work to promote, protect and uphold the human rights of disabled people.

Over the next twelve months Disability Action and CastleCourt will be organising a host of events at the city centre retail hub.

Binder Tohani, Marketing and Mall Commercialisation Manager at CastleCourt commented, “We are delighted to be supporting Disability Action this year and will be kickstarting the fundraising events on Saturday 29th June 2019 with One Great Day.  CastleCourt has a strong history of helping local charities and we have been overwhelmed with the generosity of our shoppers who are so giving.  We are as keen as ever to support organisations that work within the local community and see this partnership as a commitment to support the on-going, amazing work that Disability Action do.  This new partnership will offer the charity a great opportunity to work closely with CastleCourt in their essential fundraising and awareness building activities, providing visitors to the centre key information regarding their services as well as fun fundraising activities whilst shopping."
