  1. How we influence
  2. Influencing Government

Political

The Northern Ireland Assembly have responsibility for most of the things that impact on the lives of disabled people including social care, transport, employment and benefits.

Decisions made at Westminster can still impact on disabled people here, so it is important that we look at what is happening at Parliament.

Europe has influenced legislation and policy in Northern Ireland in relation to disability. The UK Leaving the European Union in means we have a particular focus on Brexit and the impact on disabled people.

Local Councils can impact on disabled people.  For example, local councils have responsibility for community planning.  Disabled people should be involved in this at every stage.

You can read about our work on influencing different levels of government.
