We would like to hear your views as a d/Deaf and or disabled person, a carer or supporter, to inform a report which Disability Action are producing on behalf of the Equality Commission NI.

The United Kingdom, including the NI Executive, have agreed to ‘protect and promote’ the human rights of disabled people by signing up to the Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities. It also agreed to take part in a review every 4 years so that the United Nations can check whether disabled people’s human rights are being upheld. This includes ensuring that the NI Executive, Health Trusts, public bodies including education providers and councils uphold the rights of people with disabilities.

This is your chance to tell the United Nations what’s happening to your rights and what needs to happen next. We want you to take part so that the United Nations hears about what life is really like for d/deaf and disabled people. We want you to take part so that the United Nations hears about what life is really like for disabled people in NI today.

The more d/Deaf and disabled people who contribute then the more powerful our collective voice will be. The survey closes on Tuesday 30 November 2021.
