Sometimes having a disability can make work more challenging but our Workable NI team can support disabled people in the workplace, and their employers, and put a range of supports and reasonable adjustments in place to ensure they enjoy their job and are an asset to the business.

Our Employment and Training Officers like Declan McColgan provide support to many disabled people in the workplace including Oisin. Through the Workable NI programme Declan put a range of supports in place for Oisin including:

  • Two weekly support visits
  • Working one-to-one to aid with communication skills and appropriate behaviour in the workplace
  • Agreed reasonable adjustments that include reduced hours and regular breaks.

His employer is reassured by the long-term support made available by the Workable NI Programme.
