A few years ago Disability Action supported Deborah whilst she was on placement at Laura’s Lodge, a day nursery in Antrim, through training with Rutledge Antrim.

In December 2020 Deborah secured employment and an apprenticeship opportunity with Laura’s Lodge.

Deborah says she loves what she does; she loves children, and according to her manager Deborah is so dependable with a passion to learn.

Patrick Malone, Head of Policy, Comms, Information & Advocacy at Disability Action said:

Apprenticeships are a great way for disabled people to enter the world of work. Apprenticeships provide exciting opportunities for disabled people to get hands on training, the opportunity to put skills into practice and the chance to gain invaluable experience.
