The Department for Communities (DfC) and Disability Action are joining forces to host an event to recognise and celebrate United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The event takes place on Tuesday 3 December, 2019, from 11.30am - 2pm, at the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI), Titanic Quarter, Belfast. A light buffet will be available from 11.30am with the event commencing at 12.00 noon.

The theme for this year is The Future is Accessible. The event will be opened by David Sterling, Head of the Northern Ireland Civil Service, and will feature a keynote address from Dermot Devlin, Chief Executive of My Way Access, followed by an account of the personal experiences of some users of DfC Access to Work Programmes. Following this a panel discussion will take place, chaired by Sean Fitzsimons from Disability Action.

There will be a marketplace area at the event which will showcase relevant information from various stakeholder organisations. A light lunch will be provided adjacent to the marketplace.
