The Support Works is a project funded through Europe and the Department for Employment and Learning. It offers learning support to young disabled people who are on the Jobskills and Training for Success government training schemes.
Two learning support workers based in Belfast and Derry provide one to one learning support to trainees across Northern Ireland in training organisations and colleges.
They ensure that trainees with significant learning disabilities or complex needs have the opportunity to fully participate in vocational qualifications and essential skills. Trainees are offered a quality package of support to meet their individual needs in various areas including:
