Trainee

This website is for young people with disabilities who are leaving school to go into training or already training for the world of work.

Most young people will join Training for Success, a government scheme for young people who want to learn about working in places like shops, cafes and offices or maybe joinery or car mechanics.  Support Workers from Disability Action can help you while you are in training.

Whatever you decide to do this website will give you useful information about training; help you get advice about money and benefits while you are training and direct you to people who canhelp you get started.

It’s always good to hear first hand from young adults like yourself what it’s like to be a trainee. You can read what some young people said about their time in training and you can take part by putting your thoughts on the website too.

You can also find out what to do when you have finished your training, got your qualifications and are looking for a job.

This website is for you.  We hope it is helpful and if there is anything you would like us to add, why not email us to tell what you think.  Contact us at annelocke@disabilityaction.org
