Community Development
The Community Development Unit works to assist people with disabilities to empower themselves, through the provision of training and support to disabled people and groups wishing to become active in the political, social, economic and cultural life of Northern Ireland.
The team works to combat the social exclusion, poverty, disadvantage and discrimination experienced by disabled people.
We are committed to assisting people with disabilities to take the lead in raising the awareness of and developing the solution to issues affecting them.
We support existing disability related groups and help bring them together in networks.
The unit helps develop models of good practice that promote the inclusion of disabled people in society.
Community Development support is available throughout Northern Ireland.
