Disability Action responded to the Draft Programme for Government Consultation in July 2016.

 

We undertook a number of engagement events to information our response then.

The following documents are in relation to the latest Draft Programme for Government consultation. Rather than respond to the overall document we have responded to the Delivery Plans for a number of indicators. We could not respond to all of them so have identified the ones with the most relevance to people with disabilities and their families.

 

Indicator 42 - Improving the Quality of Lives of People with Disabilities

The other delivery plans we have responded to are under the outcomes they relate to. In some cases indicator delivery plans have been grouped together. When this has happended we have responded in one document.

 

Outcome 1: We Prosper through a strong competitive, regionally balanced economy

Indicator 34: Employment rate by Council Area

 

Outcome 2: We live and work sustainably - protecting the environment

Indicator 25: % of Journeys which are made by walking/cycling/public transport

 

Outcome 3: We have a more equal society

Indicator 12: Gap between % of non-fsme school leavers and % fsme leavers achieving level 2 or above in english and maths

Indicator 19: % of population living in absolute and relative poverty before housing costs

Indicator 32: Employment rate of 16-64 year olds by deprivation quintile

Indicator 17: Economic Inactivity Rate excluding students

Indicator 34: Employment rate by Council Area

 

Outcome 4: We enjoy long, healthy, active lives

Indicator 5: % of People who are satisfied with health and social care

Indicator 6: % of Population with GHQ12 Scores >4 (signifying possible mental health problems)

 

Outcome 5: We are innovative, creative society where people can fulfil their potential.

Indicator 27: % of people engaging in arts and cultural activities in past year.

Indicator 28: Self-efficacy

Indicator 11: % of School leavers achieving at least level 2 or above in english or maths

 

Outcome 6: We have more people working in better jobs

Indicator 17: Economic Inactivity Rate excluding students

Indicator 14: Proportion of workfore in employment qualified to levels 1,2,3,4 and above

Indicator 16: Seasonably adjusted employment rate

Indicator 18: A better jobs index

Indicator 41: Proportion of graduates from local institutions in professional or management occupations or in further study after graduation

 

Outcome 7: We have a safe community where we respect the law and each other

Indicator 1: Prevelance rate (% of the population who were victims of any NI crime survey crime

 

Outcome 8: We care for each other and we help those in need

Indicator 9: Number of adults receiving personal care at home or SDS for personal care as a % of the total number of adults needing care

Indicator 8: Number of households in household stress

Indicator 6: % of Population with GHQ12 Scores >4 (signifying possible mental health problems)

Indicator 10: % of care leavers who, aged 19, were in education, training or employment
