“Rhythms of the Year” Photographic Project

Would you like photographs recording the celebrations you take part in today to be placed in a museum for future generations to learn about?

If so, National Museums Northern Ireland are keen to hear from you. They need your help with their ‘Rhythms of the Year’ project, which is part of the nationwide Cultural Olympiad.

They are looking for images that show your favourite seasonal celebration or time of the year.

Photos can be sent in at any time between Saturday 26th September 2009 and Saturday 31st October 2010. All photos received will be displayed on an online photo gallery dedicated to the passing seasons and the different ways these are celebrated and enjoyed. Some of the photographs will then be selected for a touring exhibition that will travel around Northern Ireland, before being archived by the Museums.

The online gallery will also become a record of a year of celebration in Northern Ireland in the run up to the London Olympics 2012.
