Over 20,000 people are confronting the terrifying reality of losing basic freedoms such as when they get up; what they eat; when they wash...
The government has announced that they will be closing the Independant Living Fund (ILF) in 2015.For over 21 years the ILF has made payments to disabled people to be used towards the cost of employing Personal Assistants. This money currently enables over 20,000 disabled people to lead an independent life style.
If the ILF funding stream is stopped many people supported by these funds risk loosing their basic freedoms and rights. This is unacceptable.
An online e-petition has been set up to make the government rethink their decision. They need 100,000 signatures to make it eligible for debate with the House of Commons.
