One of NI's leading stroke charities, The Stroke Association Northern Ireland is looking for volunteer nurses or health care staff to help raise awareness that high blood pressure is the leading risk factor for stroke during Stroke Awareness Week 2009.
Nurses or health care staff who are qualified to take blood pressure readings are required to help at the Blood Pressure Check Event at Stormont, Belfast on Monday 21st September 2009 from 10:00am - 3:00pm. The role of the nurse or health care staff will be to take blood pressure and BMI readings and to help raise awareness of the high risk factors for stroke. Compensation for mileage expenses will be available.
The Stroke Association Northern Ireland is the only organisation in Northern Ireland solely dedicated to the needs of stroke survivors and people living with aphasia. The Stroke Association NI is a community based charity, providing vital professionally led services such as speech & language therapy, family support, training, information and advice to stroke survivors and people living with aphasia, their carers and families' right across Northern Ireland.
