Action Cancer Special Community Breast Screening Clinics

28 June 2010

Action Cancer has developed a special programme of clinics targeted at groups of people who have more difficulty in accessing screening services than others.

These clinics are available to community groups, disability groups, people from ethnic minorities, people with sight or hearing impairments, or in fact, any group who would benefit. Each clinic will cater for a small number of people, so that appropriate individual attention can be given where needed. Each clinic will be tailored to the group's particular needs including accessibility, interpreters and sign language provision.

The day can also include a healthy lifestyle presentation, a session of complementary therapy and lunch will also be provided. These clinics take place on Wednesday mornings in Action Cancer House, 1 Marlborough Park, Malone Road, Belfast and each clinic can take a maximum of 12 women.

Transport will be provided for groups attending the clinic.

To discuss your group's particular needs or to find out more information about our work contact Lorraine Hollywood (Health Promotion Officer) at Action Cancer on 028 9080 3344 or lhollywood@actioncancer.org
