The Beth Johnson Foundation welcomes the chance to work in partnership in Northern Ireland to support the development of intergenerational community engagement to strengthen relationships across the generations.
Intergenerational practice aims to promote better understanding and respect between generations by bringing people together to participate in mutually beneficial and enjoyable activities building on the positive resources that younger and older people have to offer.
Intergenerational practice can also fit in with many areas of work such as community development, education, community safety, health and well being, volunteering and is a good tool in the building of active communities.
Following the success of the Belfast and Ards Borough Council area intergenerational small grants scheme we are delighted to announce this regional grants scheme which will enable funding of £750 for 20 intergenerational projects across Northern Ireland.
