The seminar is aimed at parents/carers of people aged 3-18 years who have a diagnosis of Autism, Aperger's Syndrome or ASD. It offers a chance to explore the effect the world has on your child's senses and uses activities that can help deal with this.

Common toileting difficulties in children with autism

The seminar is aimed at parents/carers of people aged 3-18 years who have a diagnosis of Autism, Aperger's Syndrome or ASD. We will discuss the general process of toilet training and look at the difficulties that children with an ASD may experience regarding toileting including constipation, smearing, fear of using the toilet and the sensory issues associated with this. Parents will gain a better understanding of how the ASD diagnosis impacts on these difficulties as well as a number of tips and strategies to help minimise the problems.
The seminars will also take place in Belfast and Carrickfergus in the coming months.
