17 February 2017, 10:00AM to 17 February 2017, 4:00PM
Cathedral Quarter Workspaces, 109-113 Royal Avenue, Belfast, BT1 1FF
In this workshop you will create prints using the cyanotype process and use objects that hold a hidden narrative or some meaning for you.
Cyanotype: Create your own unique and beautiful photograms; cyanotype is a heliographic sunlight printing process which produces stunning blue prints on paper. They will expose prints using a UV exposure unit and develop the prints in water.
Please bring thin objects such as lace, small baby clothes, foliage, feathers and an opaque pen for drawing and writing. You may also bring photographic negatives or digital negatives. Chunky objects will not work as they are using an exposure unit.
The object you bring should be firm enough to press into dampened tissue paper. Soft items are not suitable for this process. Small items with texture are best.
Please bring objects that are not precious, as they will be using water in the paper castings which is part of the cyanotype printing process.
Places are limited for this workshop and places will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. Please email Hugh O’Donnell or phone (028) 9023 9450 to book a place. Please include a contact telephone number in your booking email.
If you need audio description or BSL, please inform ADF in advance along with booking your place. Light refreshments will be provided but do bring a packed lunch and comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting messy!
