The Rights, Empowerment, Action and Lobbying Network

The Rights, Empowerment, Action and Lobbying (REAL) Network is a group of disabled human rights activists from across Northern Ireland. The mission of the REAL Network is to work together to ensure that the human rights of disabled people are given their full effect. The REAL Network was set up by Disability Action’s Centre on Human Rights for People with Disabilities, which continues to support the REAL Network in the achievement of this mission.

The REAL Network work locally, nationally and internationally under four core headings:

-Health and Independent Living

-Education

-Employment

-United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

There are currently twenty-five members of the REAL Network, all from a broad range of ages, social backgrounds, disabilities and life experiences.

The REAL Network is considered an innovative lobbying group and has been embraced by many in the disability sector.  Who better to lobby on the rights of people with disabilities than disabled people themselves?

If you are a person with a disability who is interested in lobbying for change to protect the rights of all disabled people, please contact the REAL Network.
