04 June 2010, 2:00PM
Disability Exhibition 2010, Lagan Valley Leisureplex, Lisburn
This seminar will provide an introduction to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and what this means for people living with disabilities in Northern Ireland.
If you are a person with a disability or a representative organisation, it is important that you understand the new UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and recognise when human rights are being violated, so you can challenge such behaviour. Everyone in society has a duty to understand the rights pf people with disabilities and to ensure these rights are protected and exercised.
The Centre on Human Rights for People with Disabilities will deliver this seminar- entitled 'A Person with a Disability-a Person with Human Rights', as part of Disability Exhibition 2010.
The seminar will run between 2pm and 3pm on Friday 4th June, at Disability Exhibition 2010, Lagan Valley Leisureplex, Lisburn.
