Disability Action’s Centre on Human Rights for People with Disabilities is offering an OCN accredited course in ‘Understanding Human Rights’, which is new and unique to Northern Ireland. This courses is available at Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2.
Many situations experienced by people with disabilities involve human rights. However, there is little information available about human rights and how they are related to people with disabilities.
Too often a person may not realise that they are able to do something about their situation, or even that there is something wrong with the way they are being treated. It is, therefore, vital that people with disabilities are able to access information about their human rights and challenge such treatment. This programme provides practical information about human rights and their relevance to people with disabilities.
The programme will be useful for people with disabilities or those wanting to learn more about the impact of human rights on people with disabilities.
