Business Support Scheme
The Business Support Scheme is a partnership between companies and Disability Action in their approach towards good practice on disability issues. We aim to develop new relationships between Disability Action and the business community in Northern Ireland.
Disability Action has over 20 years of experience, building networks and making connections with people with disabilities. Our Business Support Scheme has been set up to provide one-to-one advice to businesses and employers, on a range of disability issues from our in-house experts.
We encourage members to undertake audits to ensure they comply with best practice in areas such as:
- Access
- Training
- Communications
- Policy and Procedures
Business Support Scheme Membership Benefits
As a member of the Scheme, you will receive
- Access Audits/ Audit Reviews – 15% discount for scheme members.
- Disability/Diversity Training – Free half day training for up to 16 members of staff in first year of scheme membership- 15% discount thereafter.
- Communications Auditing – Free for up to one hour for scheme members. 15% discount thereafter.
- Policies and Procedures – Free for up to one hour for scheme members. 15% discount thereafter.
- Free use of Disability Action’s accessible meeting rooms, up to 4 times a year (subject to availability).
- Regular updates on Disability Action’s events, conferences and exhibitions, for networking opportunities.
Why Become a Member?
- Since the final part of the Disability Discrimination Act came into force in October 2004 businesses have had a legal duty to ensure that the services they provide are accessible to people with disabilities.
