Outreach

The Centre on Human Rights has an active approach to outreach.  The Outreach service is a support service designed to increase the awareness of rights amongst people with disabilities and to enable the development of an effective network of human rights activists.

The REAL (Rights, Empowerment, Action and Lobbying) Network  is a core programme within Outreach and consists of Disability Activists who have graduated from the Human Rights Training Programme and work to ensure that the human rights of people with disabilities are given full effect.

The Network is coordinated by the Outreach Officer who develops the work of the REAL Network and assists them in disseminating their views and experiences to various sectors, forums and groupings.

The Outreach Officer works with individuals and groups of people with disabilities to build their capacity to enable them to achieve greater social inclusion / integration.
